Vendor Spotlight: A.D. Busch
We are proud to host the creations of Portland husband and wife team Aaron D. Busch and Rachel Busch. Their dynamic designs utilize up-cycled and recycled materials. Reclaimed wood and metal are reformed into striking modern furnishings that reflect VDC’s appreciation for quality and craftsmanship.
More on the Busch’s work can be found on their website.

You can cut all the flowers but you cannot keep the spring from coming.

Daylight savings 2013 already! And for the past week there has been actual daylight - a rare sight through the grey Northwest winter.
Portland is beginning to bud with soft light and pops of brilliant color. A great awakening outdoors, in our dress, and our homes with fresh ceramics to hold cut flowers, soft greens, floral prints, light cotton, and plenty of yellow, pink, and orange.
Yes, spring is springing towards us and we can’t get enough of the sunshine and blooms!
We met The Ruby Pines when they wandered into the shop and asked to do a photo shoot at VDC for their new album. Singer Moorea and guitarist Michael settled into our antique Stickley arts & crafts section with photographer Tor Clausen behind the lens and magic was made!
The Ruby Pines at Vintage Design Collective - 2.23.13 (by VDCpdx)
A collection of antiques from the late 1800s and early 1900s from the VDC shop. In honor of the Sellwood-Moreland neighborhood’s 124th birthday today!
What’s your favorite style form this era? Do you gravitate towards the rustic workmanship of the Arts & Crafts style or the regal Victorian, more delicate sensibilities?
Hi, we are Vintage Design Collective!
We look forward to your comments and please feel free to contact us if you’d like to drop a line, have questions about our stock, would like us to look at something you’re working on, or anything at all that you think that we’d enjoy.
Thanks so much for visiting the VDC blog!
